Payment Options

Sales tax vendors have several options for remitting the tax collected from customers. They include:

  • ACH debit — This payment method is also known as payment by "electronic check."    
  • Credit card — The Department of Taxation offers credit card payment options in cooperation with Official Payments Corporation. A convenience fee does apply.

Both options are offered by the Ohio Business Gateway and the department's TeleFile system. In addition, these two filing systems will also accept paper checks when accompanied by a return.

The department also offers sales tax vendors the option of remitting tax by ACH credit. Merchants interested in this option must first register with the Treasurer of State. Visit or call (877) 338-6446 for more information.
