The Ohio Department of Taxation has compiled a list of frequently asked questions covering many different categories.

To view the questions, click on the "Select Category" bar and then click on the category you are interested in. A list of questions will appear pertaining to that category. Then click on the question you are inquiring about and the answer will appear.

Can I make an appointment for a face-to-face meeting with a representative of the Department of Taxation?

Generally, communications with the Department are done via telephone or through our email system. The Department operates a Taxpayer Self-Service Visitor Center from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). The visitor center is located at:

Columbus, OH 43229-6596

The visitor center provides tax forms and instructions, payment vouchers, a drop box for submission of tax documents, access to a tax examiner via telephone, and a computer with limited access to Ohio tax websites.

Note: All self-service visitors must present a photo ID such as a current driver's license, state ID, military ID or passport.
