Frequently Asked Questions

The Ohio Department of Taxation has compiled a list of frequently asked questions covering many different categories.

To view the questions, click on the "Select Category" bar and then click on the category you are interested in.  A list of questions will appear pertaining to that category. Then click on the question you are inquiring about and the answer will appear.

Is there a different filing method for the Ohio IT 3 and W-2 forms if the employer has fewer than 250 W-2 forms to file?

You may use the same method described above; however, at this time the Ohio Department of Taxation does not require W-2 information to be provided if you have fewer than 250 employees. The paper Ohio IT 3 is still required.
