Will a tax return be rejected if the driver's/state ID information or date of birth are not provided?

If driver’s license or state ID information is not provided, the return will not be rejected. However, we strongly encourage all taxpayers (including those using a tax preparer) to provide this information when present. Providing correct or valid driver’s license information is extremely important to the Department as it is used as a data element to combat income tax fraud. If date of birth is not provided, the tax return will be rejected until that information is provided.
