Frequently Asked Questions

The Ohio Department of Taxation has compiled a list of frequently asked questions covering many different categories.

To view the questions, click on the "Select Category" bar and then click on the category you are interested in.  A list of questions will appear pertaining to that category. Then click on the question you are inquiring about and the answer will appear.

Upon logging into the ID quiz, I received a message which states, "Unfortunately, we are unable to offer an identity confirmation quiz to you". Why can't I be offered the quiz and what should I do if I receive this message?

The information used to populate your personal quiz comes from many public and commercial data sources. If you are unable to access the quiz, it is likely there is not enough information available to present you with the amount of identity questions necessary to validate your identity. Or, if you have previously taken steps to protect your identity (i.e. credit freeze), an ID quiz may not be available for you.
