Frequently Asked Questions

The Ohio Department of Taxation has compiled a list of frequently asked questions covering many different categories.

To view the questions, click on the "Select Category" bar and then click on the category you are interested in.  A list of questions will appear pertaining to that category. Then click on the question you are inquiring about and the answer will appear.

What should I do if I need to cancel a "pending" future dated payment?

If you need to cancel a future dated payment, you may do so at any time if the payment is in a pending status. If the pending status has been changed to PROCESSING, the payment is no longer eligible to be cancelled. To cancel a payment while in a "Pending" status, click the CANCEL button to the right of the pending indicator in the View Payments screen. Once you click on the CANCEL button, the "Payment Status Changed" page will be displayed stating the payment has been cancelled. You will be given a confirmation number indicating the date of the future payment, the amount of the payment and the form type for the payment that was cancelled.

Important Note - If you have cancelled a future payment, do not log out or close your browser until you have received your cancellation confirmation information. We recommend that you print or save this confirmation number. Once you have cancelled your payment, your transaction will be completed, even if you log out or close your browser.
