Effective July 18th, 2019 through Fiscal Year 2021: revenue that was temporarily redirected to the Targeting Addiction Assistance Fund (Fund 5TZ0) for the 2018-2019 biennium, shall now be paid directly to municipal corporations in accordance with House Bill 166.
Please Note: the July 2019 LGF Distribution was determined in accordance to permanent law effective 7/1/2019. Therefore, the Local Government Fund distribution amounts and recipients may vary from those received in July 2019, as the formula for calculating the distribution changed effective 7/18/2019.
Newly enacted provisions in the Ohio Revised Code require that jurisdictions operating Traffic Law Photo-Monitoring Devices are required to inform the Tax Commissioner of the amount of fines realized by the operation of said devices. Additionally, R.C. 5747.502(C) requires that the Tax Commissioner withhold Local Government Fund (LGF) revenue to those jurisdictions in an amount equal to the revenue generated by traffic operations.
Please be aware that the traffic camera amounts certified on July 31, 2019 would first be applied to the next certification process on July 25, 2020 (R.C. 5747.01) meaning the LGF allocations for Fiscal Year 2020 will not be impacted by 5747.502(C).
