Sales and Use Tax Collections for January 2010
through June 2010, by Industrial Classification
For the January 1 through June 30, 2010 period, approximately
$3.9 billion in state and permissive (local) sales & use
tax was collected from 176,056 different sales vendors. The
following table summarizes the sales tax data by type of
industry classification for the indicated six-month period.
Out of the 30 classification groups, sales tax collections
ranged from a high of $531.9 million by general merchandise
stores to a low of $1.5 million by holding companies. The
number of accounts per classification ranged from 28,823
miscellaneous store retailers to 29 holding companies.
