Sales and Use Tax Collections for January 2007
through June 2007, by Industrial Classification
For the January 1 through June 30, 2007 period, approximately
$4.1 billion in state and permissive (local) sales & use
tax was collected from 188,384 different sales vendors. The
following table summarizes the sales tax data by type of
industry classification for the indicated six-month period.
Out of the 30 classification groups, sales tax collections
ranged from a high of $540.6 million by general merchandise
stores to a low of $1.4 million by mining companies. The
number of accounts per classification ranged from 36,295
miscellaneous store retailers to 34 holding companies.
