Sales and Use Tax
Sales and Use Tax Collections for July 2006 through
December 2006, by Industrial Classification
For the July 1 through December 31, 2006 period,
approximately $4.1 billion in state and permissive (local)
sales & use tax from 184,218 different sales vendors. The
following table summarizes the sales tax data by type of
industry classification for the indicated six-month period.
Out of the 19 classification groups, sales tax collections
ranged from a high of $577.0 million by general merchandise
stores to a low of $720,404 by holding companies. The number
of accounts per classification ranged from 33,862
miscellaneous store retailers to 66 holding companies.
