Payment Options

Sales tax vendors have several options for remitting the tax collected from customers. They include:

  • ACH debit — This payment method is also known as payment by "electronic check." Learn more here.
  • Credit card — The Department of Taxation offers credit card payment options in cooperation with Official Payments Corporation. A convenience fee does apply.

Both options are offered by the Ohio Business Gateway, by the department's TeleFile system, and by the department's  filing software. In addition, all two of these filing systems will also accept paper checks when acompanied by a return.

The department also offers sales tax vendors the option of remitting tax by ACH credit. Merchants interested in this option must first register with the Treasurer of State. Visit eft.tos.ohio.gov or call (877) 338-6446 for more information.
