Closing A Business
To cancel your vendor’s license you must indicate on the
final UST 1, Monthly/semiannual sales tax return, by checking
a box provided for that purpose and providing the closing
date of the business. You may also cancel your vendor’s
license electronically through the Ohio Business Gateway
system at http://business.ohio.gov or
by calling the Tele-file system at 1-800-697-0440. If your
vendor’s license is a master cumulative account, please call
1-888-405-4039 to cancel your license.
However, if the business is an establishment that holds a
liquor license, the vendor's license cannot be cancelled as
long as the liquor license is active. The owner must contact
the Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of Liquor Control,
to ensure the proper procedures are followed for disposition
of the license.
