Sales and Use Tax Electronic Filing: File Upload
Electronic sales tax filing through the Ohio Business Gateway
(OBG) is now much easier. Two file upload options allow
businesses with sales in multiple counties to file a single
universal sales tax return, or UST-1.
The first option, the "UST-1 County File Upload," allows
taxpayers and practitioners to upload a file to the OBG
containing multi-county sales and tax liability data for one
UST-1 return, saving as many as 184 manual entries for
businesses with sales in all Ohio counties.
The second option further simplifies the system. This "Full
UST-1 File Upload" capability allows taxpayers and
practitioners to create a single file that contains every
line item of their sales tax return, then upload it with just
a few mouse clicks. This eliminates the need to enter any
data into the OBG manually.

sales or use tax option and provide step-by-step
Two similar options for filing a universal use tax return are
now available. The "UUT-1 County File Upload" option allows
the upload of multi-county purchases and tax liability data
on one UUT-1 return, while the "Full UUT-1 File Upload"
option allows the creation of a single file that contains
every line item of their use tax return. The instructions
below explain the requirements and provide a step-by-step
