Software Developers: Scanning Specifications
Each year, as a service to software developers, the Ohio
Department of Taxation publishes scanning specifications for
its major tax forms.
The department prescribes the formats in order to ensure that
forms are compatible with the department’s scanning equipment
and can be processed in an efficient, accurate and economical
manner. The specifications are intended for computerized tax
processors, software developers, computer programmers,
commercial printers, and others who develop and use
substitute and reproduced tax forms.
All scanning specifications are located in the Tax Forms section of this Web site. They may be
accessed by using the search menu to select "Software
Developer Specifications" as the tax type.
