Ohio 1099 E-mail Notification Terms of Service
SCOPE AND DURATION OF CONSENT:
If you consent to go paperless for the 1099 mailing, we will notify you via e-mail when your Ohio 1099 forms are available for electronic viewing. You will be able to view and print your 1099 through Ohio's Income Tax Online Services. Your consent to activate e-mail notification means you will no longer automatically receive paper copies of your Ohio 1099 forms via postal mail from the Ohio Department of Taxation. Your consent to activate e-mail notification will remain in effect unless you choose to withdraw your consent and deactivate the e-mail notification. If you don't consent to go paperless, the Ohio Department of Taxation will continue to mail you a paper copy of your Ohio 1099 forms.
HOW TO WITHDRAW YOUR CONSENT:
To withdraw your prior consent to activate e-mail notification, login to Ohio's Income Tax online Services. Under Taxpayer Services in the left navigator select My Notification Settings. You can choose to withdraw your prior consent for the e-mail notification service by selecting "deactivate". You will receive your 1099 forms via postal mail starting with the next notice mailing. Note: If you deactivate the service during the notice mailing period (from late December through early January) your request may not take effect until the next year.
HOW TO RECEIVE A PAPER COPY:
You may login to Ohio's Income Tax Online Services to view and print a copy of your 1099 forms when they are made available (by January 31st). If you would rather the Ohio Department of Taxation mail you a paper copy, please Email us to make the request. Requesting a paper copy will not be considered a withdrawal of consent.
HOW TO UPDATE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION:
If you would like to update your mailing address, phone number(s) or e-mail address, please login to Ohio's Income Tax Online Services and go to My Profile to make your updates.
NOTICE OF TERMINATION:
Despite having provided your consent, the following business circumstances will result in your receiving your Ohio 1099 forms via postal mail:
- If you remove your e-mail address, or change your e-mail address and fail to validate it, you will receive your Ohio 1099 form via postal mail.
- If the Ohio Department of Taxation ceases to offer the e-mail service notification, you will receive your Ohio 1099 form via postal mail.
HOW TO ACCESS YOUR OHIO 1099 FORMS:
To access your Ohio 1099 information online, follow these simple steps:
- From our home page tax.ohio.gov choose Ohio's Income Tax Online Services (where you are currently logged in now) and login.
- Click on View Ohio 1099s under Tax Services in the left navigator.
- All of your Ohio 1099s issued within the last 5 years will be displayed.
- Click on the Ohio 1099 you wish to view and it will be displayed in detail.
We encourage you to print a copy of each document for your tax records to ensure you have a copy of the tax forms when the forms are no longer available online.
