Individual Tax Payments by Credit Card or Electronic Check
Note: This page is only for making payments toward individual
state and school district income taxes. To make a payment for
a business tax, visit our online services for business page.
The Ohio Department of Taxation accepts online payments by
credit card or electronic check for the Ohio individual
income tax and for school district income taxes. We also
accept credit card payments by telephone. These tools may be
used when a balance is due, to make an extension payment, an
estimated payment, or in response to billing and assessment
notices.
The credit card payment options are offered by the State of
Ohio in cooperation with Official Payments Corporation.
Please note that Official Payments Corporation charges a
service fee of 2.5 percent (or $1, whichever is
greater) on the amount of the transaction. The State
of Ohio does not receive any portion of this fee. When paying
by credit card, the tax amount and service fee will
appear on separate lines on your credit card statement.
