Ohio Department of Taxation About the Department

The primary function of the Ohio Department of Taxation is the collection and administration of 21 state taxes, three local taxes and the oversight of real property tax. The department also distributes revenue to local governments, libraries and school districts. Its mission is to provide quality service to Ohio taxpayers by helping them comply with their tax responsibilites and by fairly applying the tax law.
