Taxation's new Legislation Administrator
(Columbus) -- Ohio Tax Commissioner Pat McAndrew announced
today (12/15/03) that Kimberly A. Wisecup has joined the Ohio
Department of Taxation as Administrator of the Legislative
Division.
Ms. Wisecup comes to the Department of Taxation (ODT) from
the Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental
Disabilities (MR/DD) in Columbus where she was the
department's legislative liaison since 1998.
Tax Commissioner McAndrew says Wisecup is a welcome addition
to the ODT team, "With respect to tax issues, this is a very
fluid time in the General Assembly. There will be many
critical decisions made in the next 12-to-18 months. Kim
comes to us with a wealth of legislative experience and
contacts. Her input and abilities will be key factors in
helping guide the process of deciding the best course for
Ohio's tax system."
At MR/DD, Wisecup was the primary contact for members of the
Ohio General Assembly and their staffs and monitored
legislation of interest for that department. She helped
develop MR/DD positions on legislation and negotiated changes
in legislation with legislators and advocacy groups.
Ms. Wisecup also coordinated efforts of the MR/DD Victims of
Crime Task Force, a 17-member group appointed by Gov. Bob
Taft.
Ms. Wisecup graduated from Central Michigan University cum
laude where she majored in political science and German.
She lives in Hilliard with her husband, Tim, and their
daughter, Katie.
