- Richmond Heights School District Residents Advised to
Disregard Estimated Tax Notice
Columbus -- (February 12, 2004) The Ohio
Department of Taxation (ODT) is advising residents of the
Richmond Heights School District (Cuyahoga County) who
recently received notice of a filing requirement for
estimated school district income tax to disregard the notice.
There is no school district income tax in Richmond Heights.
The packets were sent because ODT had been incorrectly
informed that voters in the district had approved a school
district income tax. Voters instead had approved a property
tax.
The process of mailing the estimated tax payment booklets had
begun before the voting results were clarified.
The estimated tax payment booklets were sent to approximately
700 residents of the school district. ODT is sending a letter
to each alerting them that the tax packet was sent in error
and apologizing for any inconvenience.
If any residents have made an estimated payment because of
the mailing, they are being asked to call ODT at (614)
433-7602 to arrange a return of the payment.
