Business Tax - Credit Card Payments Now Accepted
You can now pay the following business taxes with a
credit card:

Sales & Use Tax

School District Employer Withholding
In cooperation with the State of Ohio, Official Payments
Corporation offers businesses the opportunity to pay taxes by
telephone, over the Internet, or via the Ohio Business
Gateway.
In order to process credit card payments, Official Payments
Corporation, the credit card service provider, charges a
service fee of 2.5% (or $1.00, whichever is greater) on
the amount of the transaction.
EASY PAYMENT VIA PHONE, INTERNET, OR THE OHIO
BUSINESS GATEWAY
PHONE
To pay by credit card using a touch-tone telephone, call the
toll-free number 1-800-2PAY-TAX (1-800-272-9829). Enter
Ohio's Business Tax Jurisdiction Code 6447 when prompted and
follow the recorded instructions.
INTERNET
Employer Withholding Tax and Sales & Use Tax are payable
by credit card over the Internet at the Official Payments
Corporation website.
For telephone and Internet payments, you will be asked to
enter basic information such as:
- The type of tax payment you are making
- The tax payment amount
- Payer information
- Your account or vendor's license number
- Your PIN number
- The reporting period
- Your credit card information
The system will:
- Tell you the total dollar amount of your payment
including the service fee
- Obtain approval of the charge
- Provide you with a confirmation number. Be sure to
write down your confirmation number as record of your
payment.
The credit card transaction will appear on your credit card
statement. The tax amount will be on one line and the
service fee amount on a separate line.
OHIO BUSINESS GATEWAY
Business taxes (Employer Withholding, School District
Withholding and Sales & Use Taxes) can now be filed and
paid by credit card on the Ohio Business Gateway.
Once you have entered your filing and payment information
into the Gateway system, it will:
- Tell you the total dollar amount of your payment
including the service fee
- Obtain approval of the charge
- Provide you with a confirmation number. Be sure to
write down your confirmation number as record of your
payment.
The credit card transaction will appear on your credit card
statement. The tax amount will be on one line, and the
service fee amount on a separate line.
